Penfolds Bin 311 Chardonnay 2009

This is tight and lean upon opening and promisingly so. I like the polished refined inherent nature of the fruit in it. Stone fruits, nectarine, white nectarines at that, serious, mouth-watering in palate delivery, this Tumbarumba Chardonnay is very subtle in oak, yet projects an ever so light emerging nuttiness as well. A minerality and light crisp finish also ensues. Balance is the word here. Spread the word I say, this is top shelf Chardonnay drinking and at the price it delivers value plus.
