Wine Of The Day

This is the wine that Paul has really taken a shine to in the past few days.

Wolf Blass White Label Specially Aged Release Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2003

The tropical fruits, limes and lemons and green olives coming from the aromas are fresh and vibrant even for a five plus year old Adelaide Hills Chardonnay. Indeed it is hitting its straps really well right now with harmony and synchronicity being the key words here to describe its current state. Soft yet pronounced fruit at that, imparted with a light nuttiness, a hint of allspice, cashews and melded oak. Delicious, long and smooth and creamy on the palate, the fruit lingers and lingers with a light tanginess to the acidity at the finishing line. This is benchmark aged Chardonnay. Try it with pot roasted beef with Thai herbs.

Drink to 2012. About $40. 97-98/100 (Superb Verging on Exceptional).
